Bennie L. Brantley, Founder and President

It all begins with Purpose.

I grew up in a household with a single-parent mother who raised me and my five sisters. At an early age, I realized the struggle and identity crisis I faced by not having a father-figure in my life. Many voices cried out for my attention. The streets were full of drugs, violence, and poverty, which created a destructive cycle of addiction and pain for the majority of people around me.
I would attend school just to receive free lunch and even attended a church down the street to simply keep from going home. All my remaining time was spent playing sports. I was actually really good - athletic and as quick as the wind blows. Thankfully, I found one positive outlet where I could focus my attention. I developed many life skills that I draw upon today because of my experience in playing sports and due to the coaches who were positive role models in my life.

It is for this reason I have dedicated myself to being a mentor amongst the youth, especially those who are raised in single-parent households, poverty stricken neighborhoods, and unjust environments. The coming together of a community begins with awareness, then action. Every child deserves an opportunity for a bright future.
