I grew up in a household with a single-parent mother who raised me and my five sisters. At an early age, I experienced the struggle and identity challenges that come from not having a father figure present. Many voices competed for my attention, and the environment around me—filled with drugs, violence, and poverty—created a cycle that was hard to escape. I went to school at times just for a meal and found myself spending as much time as I could outside of the home. Sports became my outlet. It gave me direction, discipline, and something to pour myself into. I was naturally athletic and driven, but more importantly, I was surrounded by coaches who stepped in as positive role models. Through sports, I developed the life skills, structure, and mindset that I still carry with me today. The streets, however, are unforgiving. At a critical point in my life, I was faced with a decision—continue down a path that led nowhere good or make a change. That ultimatum led me to enlist in the United States Army. My time in service exposed me to discipline, accountability, resilience, and the reality of what it means to be part of something greater than yourself. It gave me structure when I needed it most and helped shape the man I am today. After my time in service, I remained committed to being a leader in my community. I’ve seen firsthand how a lack of guidance, structure, and support can impact not just youth, but also veterans transitioning out of service and individuals trying to find their footing in life. It is for this reason that I have dedicated myself to mentorship, supporting veterans, and helping individuals build strength—physically, mentally, and in how they live their lives. Alongside my wife, we are committed to serving our community together—creating an environment where people are supported, challenged, and given a real opportunity to grow. I believe real change starts with awareness, is built through action, and is sustained through community. When people are given the right environment, the right guidance, and the right support, they can rise above their circumstances and become a source of strength for others.
